Old “strategies” from our grandmother are on vogue again! The most of them are products of natural base and they are like a SPA for our house!

\r\n

For these kind of tricks you don't have to spend a lot of money: water, Marseille soap and vinegar are enough!!! And essence of vinegar! Maybe you don't know this product but as I'm German I know it very well because it's sold in any supermarket in Germany. For you it's easier to find it online www.detergentiwagner.com. What else do you need? Bicarbonate of soda, calcium carbonate and natural essential oils. With these ingredients you can create cleaning products without problems and any risk for nature. Warning: don't mix these products with the commercial ones because you can get a very dangerous reaction!

The silver mask
A lot of people believe that the easiest way to clean silver is using aluminum paper, salt and hot water, but attention! In this way the silver looses its brilliance and knives get rusty. It's better if you mix a spoon of calcium carbonate with three little spoons of alcohol. Use a soft rag with this mix on the silver surface moving roundly and carefully. Let it dry. At the end use another rag to make it shine and clean everything with warm water.

Are your crystal glasses not brilliant any more?
Put one spoon of eggshell in pieces in every glass. Add some lemon juice and about half a glass of vinegar essence. Let in this way a night long. The following morning you have just to water your glasses! Done!

Windows and mirrors can shine again with water and vinegar. Put the same quantity of water and vinegar in a vaporizer to spray the product on the dirty surfaces and clean them with old newspaper.

A special treatment for your pots
Stainless steel, polished or ceramic pots...all your pots, especially their bottoms, need to be cleaned now and then. This is a very effective system: a mix made of flakes of Marseille soap (1\\2 glass), oil, better if oilseed, (six little spoons), glycerine (three little spoons), bicarbonate of soda (two little spoons) and one glass of calcium carbonate. Warm the soap with the oil at low temperature. Take it away from the fire and add the other ingredients. Put this mix into a vase and let it get dry for 3\\4 days. Use a rough sponge and move this product at the bottom of your pot.

If your pots are opaque inside, put the same quantity of water and vinegar, boil the mix and let it there for one night. Done!

Massage with peeling effect for your knives with black dots
You sometimes get some horrible black dots on your knives that you can't remove...
I have a magic formula! Prepare a mix of oilseed and wood ash, “massage” your knives and dots will vanish!

Aromatherapy against moths
This little animals hate perfume. Prepare little bags with 5 cloves, 2 sticks of cinnamon, 1little spoon of nutmeg, 2 orange and lemon peel, 1 handful of rosemary (pressed in a mortar), some drops of aromatic oil (orange or lemon). Fill your little bags and hang them in your wardrobe. Moths are dead!

Use the vacuum cleaner first…..
Use always the vacuum cleaner with brushes when you pass over your parquet or your ceramic floor.

\r\n

It's not possible to wash carpets, but they get dirty as well. Use crystal sodium (it's a product that comes from a natural process: bicarbonate soda crystallization) and distribute it on your carpet. After one hour use your vacuum cleaner to collect it carefully! Warning: I'm not talking about caustic soda!!!!

\r\n

To get fresh perfume when you pass your vacuum cleaner, you can use the powder made right for the vacuum cleaner (Esteban etc.). A good idea is also to put some washing powder or a paper handkerchief impregnated with essential oil. In both cases you have to aspirate it with your vacuum cleaner and you will have some fresh air any time you use it!

\r\n

….and now it's time for wet cleaning!
If you have parquet it's better to wash the floor with a slightly wet rag, soft like fog! Clean and care at the same time: use flakes of Marseille soap, bicarbonate soda and some warm water (the right mix for 4 liters: 2 spoons of flakes and 3 little spoons of bicarbonate soda). Let it dry or make it brilliant with a soft rag.

The ceramic floor gets clean and brilliant with a mix of warm water and essence of vinegar. The natural stone floor doesn't love products with acidity, so use flakes of Marseille soap and 1 little spoon of the essence oil, the taste you prefer.
